The Adventure Begins – Arusha to the Heart of the Serengeti

Your safari begins at Arusha Airport (or the smaller, dedicated airstrip). After a smooth check-in for your scheduled local flight, you'll board a small aircraft. As you ascend, enjoy breathtaking aerial views of the Tanzanian landscape transforming from the farmlands around Mount Meru to the vast, open plains of the Serengeti. Your private guide and safari vehicle will be waiting to greet you.

The game drive starts immediately! Instead of heading straight to the camp, you will enjoy a game drive en-route. You are likely to see herds of zebra, wildebeest, impala, and giraffe. Keep your eyes peeled for predators like lions lazing in the sun or cheetahs scanning the horizon from a termite mound.

You'll arrive at Into Wild Africa Tented Camp in time for a welcome drink and to settle into your tent. The camp combines the thrill of classic safari living with essential comforts like comfortable beds and en-suite facilities.

Immersion in the Central Serengeti

Wake up to the sounds of the bush. After an early breakfast, you set out for a full day of exploration. The early morning is the best time for game viewing, as animals are most active in the cool hours. Your guide will take you through the Seronera River Valley, a key feature that attracts a high concentration of wildlife. This is the time to search for the elusive leopard, often seen resting in the sausage trees along the riverbanks.

The game drive continues, exploring different areas of the Central Serengeti. You might visit a hippo pool to watch these giants grunt and splash, or witness a pride of lions, from playful cubs to the majestic males. The diversity here is astounding, with opportunities to see elephants, buffalo, and a plethora of antelope species.

Return to the camp as the sun begins to set, painting the sky in hues of orange and purple. Relive the day's sightings over a sundowner drink before another delightful dinner at the camp.

Deeper Exploration – The Endless Plains

With two full days of game viewing, today is your chance to delve even deeper. Your guide might suggest exploring a different sector of the Central Serengeti based on recent wildlife movements. This could mean heading further north or south within the region to areas known for specific predator activity or to witness a potential river crossing if the migration is nearby (location and time of year dependent).

This day is about quality over mileage. You have the luxury to spend more time with a fascinating animal behavior—perhaps a hunt, a herd of elephants interacting, or a cheetah teaching her cubs. You'll gain a deeper appreciation for the intricate balance of this ecosystem.

Farewell Evening: Enjoy your final evening in the wild. This is your last chance to enjoy the unique atmosphere of your tented camp and the spectacular night sky, far from any city lights.

A Final Game Drive and Journey Home

Morning: After breakfast, you check out of the camp and embark on your final game drive. This is your last opportunity to capture that perfect photograph or spot an animal that has eluded you—perhaps a rare serval cat or a majestic male lion. The drive will be timed to seamlessly transfer you to the Seronera Airstrip.

Mid-Morning: You'll bid a fond farewell to your guide and the Serengeti as you board your flight back to Arusha.

Afternoon: Upon arrival at Arusha Airport, our services will end. You can either connect with your international flight from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or be transferred to a hotel in Arusha if you are extending your stay.
