Day 2

Nairobi to the shores of Lake Nakuru

Nairobi to the shores of Lake Nakuru

After breakfast, depart Nairobi through the Rift Valley escarpments to the floor of the valley where Lake Nakuru National Park lies. The Park was established in 1961 to protect the alkaline Lake Nakuru.

The lake is renowned for its flamingo population and also recognized as a rhino sanctuary, harboring a population of black and white rhinos. It is also home to many herbivores including Rothschild's giraffe, buffalo, hippo, gazelle and nearly 55 mammals including lions, leopards, spotted hyenas, rock hyraxes and reedbuck.

You will arrive in time for check-in and enjoy a delicious lunch. After relaxation, you will proceed for a game drive at the park, where you will encounter a diverse array of other wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, giraffes, and buffaloes among others. Dinner and overnight at your Lodge.

After breakfast, proceed to the Masai mara game reserve to arrive in good time for lunch. Check-in, have lunch, and spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing in your tent waiting for the late evening when the temperature cools to head out on your first Mara game drive.

Masai Mara is one of Africa’s greatest wildlife reserves brimming with abundant wildlife and birdlife. Game viewing is spectacular year-round; with opportunities of witnessing a pride of lions stalking their prey, observe a herd of elephants and their fascinating social structure, or see pods of hippo wallowing in the rivers.

Return to your Camp at sunset for dinner and overnight.

2 Full days you can make the Mara a game viewing extravaganza!
The itinerary is flexible, and you can plan with your guide the day’s schedule. You can have a relaxed breakfast and depart for a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch. You will have better chances to view wildlife all day and return to the lodge late in the afternoon.

Alternatively, you can depart an early morning game drive. Later, return to your accommodation for breakfast and relax until midafternoon. Then, depart on an afternoon game drive.

Day 6

Maasai Mara – Serengeti National Park

Early breakfast, enjoy a final, scenic game drive as you are transferred to the nearby Airstrip for your flight connecting you to Serengeti National Park. The most common rout to cross the border when travelling between Maasai Mara and Serengeti is as follows.

The flight from Maasai Mara flies to Migori town (about 40 mins) then a road transfer to Isebania Kenya/Tanzania boarder (approx. 30 mins) for customs and immigrations. Afterwards, continue on a road transfer to Tarime Airstrip (approx. 15mins) to take another flight to your final destination in the Serengeti.

On arrival, your driver will be waiting for you and transfer you to your Camp. Game drive enroute and lunch at the Camp. Afternoon Game drive in the (central) Seronera region of Serengeti National Park.

Dinner and overnight at your camp.

Spend the next 2 days living the dream of every wildlife enthusiast as you embark on safaris across the wondrous Serengeti. This legendary park is one of the largest and oldest ecosystems on Earth, created in 1951 & covering about 14,800km2 of open plains. Thus, its name Serengeti (from the word Siringet, meaning “endless” plain in maa, the language of the Maasai).
Besides being a great place to spot the Big Five, the Serengeti hosts the annual Great Migration. From June to November, this "greatest wildlife show on earth" sees more than a million wildebeest, plus hundreds of thousands of zebras and Thomson's gazelles, undertake the long trek to new grazing grounds.

You'll enjoy both morning & afternoon game drives to witness exotic animals in the park. You'll likely see grazing giraffes and zebras, and perhaps even lions as they hunt wildebeests and gazelles in herds or elephants and buffalo, with leopards and rhinos being a less common sight.

After breakfast, we set off for another morning game drive in the Serengeti before driving to the game -rich Ngorongoro Conservation Area for a six-hour game drive.

This stunning piece of wilderness is a UNESCO World Heritage site being the world’s largest volcanic caldera home to one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. Almost every large mammal is represented across the range of Natural Habitats here.

Exploring the crater floor offers superb wildlife sightings from black manned lions to rhinos, buffaloes, elephants and other grazing animals abound. If during your safari expeditions you have not yet come across a lion, Ngorongoro will not disappoint as it holds the highest density of this predator in the World.

We picnic in the crater and after an exciting day of game viewing, we drive to our Camp for dinner and overnight.

Breakfast at the Camp. Drive from Ngorongoro to Lake Manyara National Park. The National Park is dominated by the Great Rift Valley Lake of Lake Manyara, a shallow lake attracting numerous water birds.

The lake is known best for its tree-climbing lion, often sotted sleeping in the trees or the shade below as well as its big baboon troops and seasonal Flamingo flocks fringing its shores along other various waterfowl.

Arrive at your Lodge in time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive in this very scenic park with fabulous views over the valley to the lake below. The Park is small but its manageable size makes it possible to see every highlight in a day.

In the evening, begin with a gentle stroll to the chosen spot where chairs, lamps, campfire and a bush bar with cocktail snacks will already have been set up.
