Day 1

Begin your safari with a morning pickup from your Nairobi hotel or JKIA Airport, where your guide will brief you on the adventure ahead. Depart for Lake Nakuru National Park via the scenic Great Rift Valley, stopping along the way at viewpoints to admire the dramatic landscapes. Upon arrival, check in at The Cliff Camp and enjoy lunch while taking in the stunning vistas. In the afternoon, head out on your first game drive. Lake Nakuru is renowned for its impressive birdlife, especially the flocks of flamingos along the shoreline. The park is also home to lions, rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, zebras, buffalos, and various antelopes. Return to The Cliff Camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, depart Lake Nakuru and drive south along the Rift Valley, passing through Narok town and expansive Maasai grasslands. Ascend the western escarpment and enter the vast plains often referred to as “Hemingway’s country.” Arrive at Entim Mara Camp in time for lunch and a short rest. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive in the Masai Mara, known for its rich wildlife and iconic African landscapes. Spot lions lounging in the grass, herds of elephants, giraffes, zebras, and various antelope species. As the sun sets over the savannah, return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, venture out on morning game drives to see the Big Five—lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and buffalos—as well as cheetahs, zebras, gazelles, and a variety of bird species. You can enjoy a picnic lunch in the park or return to the camp for a midday break. Optional experiences include a hot air balloon safari over the Mara plains or a visit to a Maasai village to learn about their traditions and daily life.
