Travel to Lake Mburo National park

Your safari begins with a warm welcome from your guide at either Entebbe/Kampala or your hotel. After a short briefing, you’ll begin your journey westward toward Lake Mburo National Park. The drive is relaxing and offers views of rolling hills, farms, and small towns along the way. By early afternoon, you will arrive at Eagle’s Nest Camp, perched on a hilltop with sweeping views of the park.

After checking in and enjoying lunch while taking in the panoramic scenery, you will head out for an evening game drive. As the day cools, animals become more active, giving you the chance to spot zebras grazing, topis standing alert on the plains, buffaloes wandering near the thickets, and numerous antelope species. Birds are abundant too, making the area a paradise for birdwatchers. At sunset, return to the camp for dinner and a peaceful night under the clear African sky.

Lake Mburo National Park

Wake up early to the cool morning breeze and enjoy breakfast before heading out for a sunrise game drive. The early hours provide the best chance to spot shy wildlife such as hyenas returning from a night of hunting, bushbucks emerging from the woodland, and perhaps even the elusive leopard. Your guide will lead you through different habitats—from open savannah to rocky outcrops—showing you the diversity that makes Lake Mburo unique. After returning to the lodge for lunch and a short break, you will venture down to the lake for a relaxed boat excursion. As the boat glides across the calm water, be on the lookout for hippos lounging near the shore, crocodiles resting on sunlit banks, and colorful birds like fish eagles and kingfishers. The peaceful setting allows you to experience the park from a completely different perspective. Later in the afternoon, you’ll return to Eagle’s Nest Camp for dinner and a restful evening.

Walking Safari & Departure

Start your last day with a guided nature walk led by an experienced ranger, giving you the chance to explore Lake Mburo up close. Walking through the park allows you to notice tracks, vegetation, bird species, and smaller wildlife that are often missed while driving. The quiet pace helps you connect more deeply with the natural surroundings. After the walk, you’ll return to the lodge for brunch, enjoy a final look at the sweeping views, and get ready for departure. Your guide will then drive you back to Entebbe or to your onward destination, marking the end of your Lake Mburo safari.
