Day 1

Depart early from Addis Ababa and drive approximately 160 km south through scenic highlands and the Rift Valley (2–2.5 hours). Enjoy views of rural villages, farmland, and rolling hills before arriving at Lake Ziway mid-morning.

Spend the day exploring the lake and its surroundings. Activities: Take a boat ride to visit local fishermen and observe traditional fishing techniques, enjoy birdwatching with pelicans, cormorants, and kingfishers, and photograph the serene islands and lakeshore. You can also visit local villages to experience the culture and daily life of the communities.

Enjoy a traditional lakeside lunch with views of the water and islands before beginning your return journey to Addis Ababa in the afternoon. Arrive back in the city in the late afternoon, concluding a full day of nature, wildlife, and cultural exploration.
