Begin the day with a morning game drive in the Masai Mara, exploring its abundant wildlife before exiting the reserve. After completing border formalities, continue the journey to Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park. Along the way, there is an opportunity to visit the famous Olduvai Gorge, where Dr. Louis and Mary Leakey discovered early human fossils. Attend a short lecture about the archaeological digs and geology, then explore the small museum. Although it’s a long day of driving, wildlife sightings along the route can be remarkable. Predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas follow the migrating herds, while smaller wildlife like rock hyraxes, jackals, and monkeys, along with nearly 500 bird species, add to the park’s rich diversity. Afternoon drives continue en route to the campsite. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a public campsite or a private tented camp or lodge.

Upon arrival in the Ngorongoro Highlands, the cooler climate and lush landscapes set the scene for exploration. Guests can also upgrade their accommodation to a lodge with panoramic crater views for an unforgettable stay. This route highlights the dramatic contrast between the Serengeti’s vast plains and the Ngorongoro’s volcanic highlands, offering breathtaking scenery and rich wildlife experiences throughout the journey.

We will start the day very early and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for an unforgettable morning of wildlife viewing in one of the most stunning landscapes on Earth. After the game drive, we’ll enjoy a picnic lunch near the scenic hippo lake. Following lunch, there will be time for a short game drive before ascending the crater and exiting the Ngorongoro Conservation Area toward Arusha. We expect to return to Arusha around 5:00 pm, with flexibility to accommodate flights or other schedules.
