After breakfast, you’ll be transferred from Moshi or Arusha to Marangu Gate for registration and a detailed trek briefing. Begin your ascent through dense rainforest, where towering trees, colorful birdlife, and playful monkeys create a lively atmosphere. The well-maintained trail allows for a gentle introduction to the mountain as you gradually climb to Mandara Hut, your first overnight stop nestled within the forest zone.

Leaving the rainforest behind, today’s trek leads into heather and moorland, offering expansive views across the mountain slopes. On clear days, the dramatic Mawenzi Peak dominates the skyline. The steady ascent allows your body to adapt naturally to the increasing altitude. Upon arrival at Horombo Hut, enjoy time to rest, hydrate, and admire sweeping views of both Kibo and Mawenzi peaks.

Day 3

Today you enter the alpine desert zone, a vast and rugged landscape with minimal vegetation and striking volcanic terrain. Passing the “Last Water Point,” the trail opens up to impressive views of Kibo’s glaciers ahead. Arrive at Kibo Hut in the afternoon, where you’ll rest, enjoy an early dinner, and prepare for the summit attempt. Proper hydration and rest are essential as excitement builds for the night ahead.

Day 4

Shortly after midnight, begin your summit ascent, tackling the steep trail toward Gilman’s Point (5,681m) on the crater rim. From there, continue along the ridge to Uhuru Peak, where you’ll witness an unforgettable sunrise over Africa. After celebrating this incredible achievement, descend carefully back to Kibo Hut for a brief rest before continuing down to Horombo Hut. This is the most challenging yet most rewarding day of the trek.

Day 5

Descend through moorland and lush rainforest, enjoying the fresh air and changing scenery. Upon arrival at Marangu Gate, climbers who reached the summit receive their official Kilimanjaro certificates. After celebrations and farewells to the mountain crew, transfer back to Moshi or Arusha, concluding an unforgettable Mount Kilimanjaro adventure.
