After an early breakfast at your hotel in Moshi, you will be transferred by vehicle to the Rongai Gate on the northern side of Mount Kilimanjaro, near the Kenyan border (approx. 4–5 hours’ drive). Upon arrival, complete park registration and permit formalities while your crew prepares equipment. The trek begins through farmland and pine forest, offering a gentle introduction to the route. The trail steadily ascends to Simba Camp at approximately 2,600 meters above sea level. Hiking time is about 3–4 hours, allowing time to acclimatize. Upon arrival, enjoy a hot meal prepared by the crew, followed by a briefing and overnight at Simba Camp.

Day 2
Simba Camp to Kikelewa Camp
Simba Camp to Kikelewa Camp
After breakfast, continue trekking through open moorland with wide views across the northern plains. The trail gradually ascends, passing Second Cave en route before continuing higher. Hiking time is approximately 6–7 hours, reaching Kikelewa Camp at around 3,600 meters. Lunch is taken along the route or upon arrival. The afternoon is spent resting and acclimatizing, followed by dinner and overnight at camp.

Day 3
Kikelewa Camp to Mawenzi Tarn Hut

Depart after breakfast and ascend steadily toward Mawenzi Tarn Camp, located at approximately 4,330 meters beneath the dramatic spires of Mawenzi Peak. The landscape becomes increasingly alpine with expansive views. The hike takes about 4–5 hours. After arrival, enjoy lunch, rest, and an early dinner in preparation for higher altitude trekking.

Day 4
Acclimatization Day at Mawenzi Peak
Acclimatization Day at Mawenzi Peak
This day is reserved for rest and acclimatization to enhance summit success. After breakfast, take a short acclimatization hike to higher elevation through the Mawenzi Peak. Make sure to utilize the great opportunity to take excellent photos with Mount Kilimanjaro on the background at a very special view point during this hike and before returning to camp. The remainder of the day is spent resting, hydrating, and allowing your body to adapt to the altitude. Your guide will monitor your condition and provide briefings for the summit approach.

Day 5
Mawenzi Tarn Hut to Kibo Hut

After breakfast, trek across the saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo Peaks. This section is a wide, barren alpine desert with minimal elevation gain but can feel demanding due to altitude. Hiking time is approximately 4–6 hours, arriving at Kibo Hut (4,700m). Rest, hydrate, and enjoy an early dinner before preparing for the summit attempt.

Day 6
Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak, Descend to Horombo Hut
Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak, Descend to Horombo Hut
Depart around midnight for the summit ascent. Climb steadily to Gilman’s Point and continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), reaching the summit around sunrise. After photos and celebration, descend to Kibo Hut for a short rest, then continue to Horombo Hut for dinner and overnight.

Day 7
Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate to Hotel in Moshi
Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate to Hotel in Moshi
After breakfast, descend through moorland and rainforest to Marangu Gate (5–6 hours). Upon completion, receive your summit certificates before transferring back to your hotel in Moshi, marking the end of your Kilimanjaro trek.
