Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, a warm welcome awaits you from your private safari guide, who will transfer you to your hotel. Entebbe offers a relaxing atmosphere with its laid-back vibe and proximity to Lake Victoria, the largest lake in Africa. Depending on your arrival time, you might have the chance to see the prehistoric Shoebill in the Mabamba Wetlands, or you could plan to see it the following day.

Day 2

After an early breakfast, we set out for a Shoebill Quest at Mabamba Wetlands, one of the best places in Uganda to spot this rare and iconic bird. Navigating the channels by local canoe, we’ll search for the shoebill along with other fascinating water birds. After the experience, we begin our journey westward to the lush Kibale Forest region, renowned for its rich biodiversity and large chimpanzee population. The drive takes you through scenic countryside, small villages, and rolling tea plantations, providing numerous photo opportunities along the way. We’ll pause for a leisurely lunch en route before heading to the lodge, arriving in time to settle in and enjoy the tranquil forest surroundings. The atmosphere is serene, and vervet monkeys or black-and-white colobus monkeys may pass by your veranda — a hint of the forest wonders awaiting us tomorrow.

After an early morning breakfast, your private guide will take you to the Kanyanchu Orientation Center, where you will check in for the activity before embarking on an exciting chimpanzee tracking adventure in Kibale’s lush rainforests. As you navigate through the dense vegetation, you’ll observe and photograph these captivating primates in their natural habitat, watching them groom, play, and interact with one another. Following the chimpanzee encounter, you will return to the lodge for lunch before beginning your scenic drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park in the afternoon. The journey takes you through rural countryside and crater lake landscapes, offering a relaxed transition between the two ecosystems. Upon arrival in Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will proceed to your lodge for check-in and an evening at leisure.

After an early breakfast, you will set out for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi Plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of the park’s most rewarding wildlife areas. The open savannah is ideal for spotting Uganda kob, waterbuck, elephants, buffalo, and with luck, lions and leopards, often with the Rwenzori Mountains providing a dramatic backdrop in the early light.

In the afternoon, you will enjoy a leisurely boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway connecting Lake Edward and Lake George. This cruise offers exceptional opportunities to observe hippos, Nile crocodiles, large herds of buffalo, elephants along the shoreline, and a rich diversity of birdlife at close range — making it one of the highlights of any visit to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
After the boat ride, return to the lodge for a relaxed evening.

After an early breakfast, you will begin a transfer game drive through the Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, an area renowned for its tree-climbing lions and open savannah landscapes. The drive is unhurried, allowing time to observe wildlife activity along the way, with opportunities to encounter elephants, buffalo, antelope species, and, with luck, lions resting in fig trees.

As this is a transfer day, the journey combines wildlife viewing and travel, gradually transitioning from the plains of Ishasha to the forested highlands of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Scenic stops and photographic pauses are made as conditions allow, ensuring a relaxed and rewarding drive.
You will arrive in Bwindi in the afternoon for lodge check-in and an evening at leisure.

Today is dedicated to the highlight of your journey — mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. After an early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers before setting off into the forest in search of a habituated gorilla family.

The trek takes you through ancient rainforest terrain, alive with birds and forest life, before culminating in a powerful hour spent observing gorillas as they feed, interact, and move through their natural habitat. The close encounter with these remarkable primates is both humbling and unforgettable.

In the afternoon, return to the lodge to relax and reflect on the experience.

After breakfast, begin your scenic drive back to Entebbe. The journey takes you through rolling hills, local villages, and beautiful countryside landscapes. Along the way, stop at the Equator for photos, stretching, and a chance to browse local craft shops or enjoy a meal. Continue the drive to Entebbe, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening, depending on road conditions and time spent at the Equator.
Depending on your international flight schedule, you may relax at a day hotel or proceed directly to Entebbe International Airport for your onward journey home.
