Upon arrival in Dinsho, home to the headquarters of Bale Mountains National Park, begin your safari experience with a guided hike through the park’s scenic juniper woodlands. This area offers excellent opportunities to spot several endemic and endangered mammals, including Menelik’s bushbuck, Mountain nyala, warthog, reedbuck, and gray duiker.
Birdwatchers will be delighted by sightings of Ethiopian endemic birds such as the Abyssinian flycatcher, Wattled ibis, and Abyssinian catbird, all thriving in this unique habitat.

Day 2
Goba – Sanetti Plateau – Afro-Alpine Landscapes

After breakfast, drive from Goba to the spectacular Sanetti Plateau, the highest plateau in Africa. As you traverse this vast Afro-alpine landscape, watch for falcons, raptors, and the rare Ethiopian wolf, one of the world’s most endangered canid species.
Enjoy breathtaking scenery of moorlands, alpine lakes, and sweeping highland views as you pass near Tullu Dimtu (4,377 m), the second-highest peak in Ethiopia. The dramatic altitude and unique ecology make this one of the most striking areas in the country.

Day 3
Goba – Harenna Forest – Wildlife & Waterfalls

After breakfast, drive south toward the lush Harenna Forest, Ethiopia’s second-largest tropical rainforest. En route, keep an eye out for the Ethiopian wolf, Abyssinian hare, and water birds such as Blue-winged goose, Ruddy shelduck, and Wattled crane.
Arriving in Harenna Forest (approximately 2,977 m), enjoy a guided hike through bamboo trails and toward scenic waterfalls. This forest is home to the endemic Bale monkey, as well as colobus monkeys, forest hogs, bush pigs, and, with luck, leopards.
After exploring the forest, begin a slow scenic drive back through the Sanetti Plateau, stopping at key wildlife areas for additional chances to spot Ethiopian wolves and endemic birds.

Day 4

Bale Mountains – Addis Ababa | Departure
After breakfast, transfer to Goba Airport for your flight to Addis Ababa. Upon arrival, enjoy a short Addis Ababa city tour, including visits to the National Museum, Mount Entoto, and nearby parks.
In the late afternoon or evening, enjoy a farewell dinner, marking the end of your Bale Mountains safari experience before preparing for your international departure.
