Lake Natron – Arusha
After an early breakfast at the lodge or campsite, enjoy a final guided nature walk around Lake Natron, offering excellent opportunities for photography and bird watching. The shallow alkaline waters of the lake attract large numbers of flamingos and other water birds, creating a striking contrast against the volcanic landscape and Rift Valley escarpment. Your guide will explain the unique ecosystem of the lake and its importance as a breeding ground for flamingos.
Later in the morning, visit a nearby Maasai village, where you will be welcomed by the local community. Learn about Maasai traditions, daily life, and their deep cultural connection to the land and livestock. This cultural interaction provides meaningful insight into one of Tanzania’s most iconic indigenous communities.
After the village visit, return to the lodge for lunch or enjoy a packed lunch before beginning the scenic drive back to Arusha. Travel through rugged terrain and open plains, passing Maasai homesteads.
