Arrival in Arusha

Upon arrival, you’ll be met at the airport and transferred to SG Hotel. Your first day includes a guided city tour, where you’ll visit local markets, the Maasai Market, key cultural heritage sites, and the Arusha City Museum. After the tour, you’ll be taken to your SG Resort to relax and unwind.

Arusha to Ndutu (Southern Serengeti)

After breakfast, you’ll depart from your Arusha hotel and begin the scenic drive to Ndutu, a journey of approximately 260 km that takes around 5.5 hours. About two hours into the drive, you’ll enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where the scenery shifts from forested highlands to open plains and lush grasslands.

As the landscape opens up, it gradually blends into the vast Serengeti ecosystem. Ndutu lies along the path of the Great Migration, hosting more than two million wildebeest alongside zebras, gazelles, and various antelope species.

Between December and April, the plains become vital calving and nursery grounds for the migration, offering exceptional game-viewing opportunities. This period also draws numerous predators targeting the young calves. Ndutu Lake and Lake Masek further enhance wildlife sightings, especially during the dry season, and the area is well known as a stronghold for six different species of big cats.

Ndutu to Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, set out on an exciting game drive through the Ndutu region. Following a morning of wildlife viewing and a picnic lunch, the journey continues toward the Ngorongoro Crater rim.

The drive to the crater, covering roughly 75 km in about 2.5 hours, offers opportunities to spot wildlife along the way. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa’s most extraordinary natural formations, a well-preserved sanctuary teeming with wild beauty.

In the evening, enjoy a hearty dinner and settle in for a peaceful overnight stay at your lodge.
