Day 2

Entebbe – Queen Elizabeth National Park

Entebbe – Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, depart Entebbe and begin the scenic drive west toward Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey passes through rural towns, farmland, and tea plantations, offering insight into everyday life in Uganda. A lunch stop is made en route. Arrival in the park is in the late afternoon, followed by check-in at your lodge and time to relax while enjoying views of the surrounding landscape.

The day begins with an early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, when wildlife is most active. With your guide, you search for elephants, buffalo, lions, antelope, warthogs, and numerous bird species. After breakfast and rest at the lodge, you enjoy an afternoon boat safari on the Kazinga Channel, a highlight of the park known for hippos, crocodiles, water birds, and animals gathering along the shoreline.

After breakfast, enjoy a second game drive in a different section of Queen Elizabeth National Park to increase wildlife viewing opportunities. Alternatively, depending on preference and road conditions, you may drive toward the Ishasha sector, an area famous for its tree-climbing lions (sightings depend on wildlife movement). The afternoon is spent returning to the lodge to relax after a full day in the park.

Later, your guide briefs you on the gorilla trekking experience, including park rules, safety guidelines, and what to expect during the trek.

Day 6

Gorilla Trekking Experience

Gorilla Trekking Experience

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for registration and briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You are assigned a gorilla family and begin the trek through the forest accompanied by rangers and trackers. The trek can take between 2 and 6 hours depending on gorilla location and terrain. Once found, you spend up to one hour observing the gorillas before returning to the lodge to rest and reflect on the experience.

Upon arrival in Entebbe, you are transferred to Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight, marking the end of your wildlife and gorilla safari.
