Day 1

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Your safari begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Arusha and a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park. Famous for its massive baobab trees and large herds of elephants, Tarangire offers excellent game viewing throughout the year. Enjoy a full-day game drive with opportunities to spot lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and a variety of birdlife. A picnic lunch will be served inside the park. In the late afternoon, drive to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, depart Karatu and drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area toward the Central Serengeti. Enjoy stunning highland scenery before descending onto the endless plains of the Serengeti, one of Africa’s most famous wildlife regions. Arrive in time for a picnic lunch and an afternoon game drive, searching for lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, and large herds of wildebeest and zebras. In the evening, head to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and an overnight stay in the heart of the savannah.

Spend a full day exploring the Central Serengeti with morning and afternoon game drives across its vast savannah plains. This wildlife-rich region is home to large prides of lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, and huge herds of wildebeest and zebras. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush or return to camp for a hot lunch, then continue your safari adventure. In the evening, return to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and an overnight stay under the African stars.

After lunch, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive on the crater floor, home to the Big Five, including lions, elephants, buffalo, and the rare black rhino. In the late afternoon, drive to your lodge at Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay.

Enjoy a morning game drive along the park’s scenic trails and take in views of the Rift Valley escarpment. After a picnic or lunch at a lodge near the park, drive back to Arusha.
