Day 1
Arusha to Southern Serengeti (Ndutu)
Arusha to Southern Serengeti (Ndutu)
After breakfast, we will pick you up from your accommodation in Arusha booked by you and head towards the far south of the Serengeti National Park, also known as the Ndutu area.
The Lake Ndutu area, situated in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, is part of the southern Serengeti ecosystem. Lake Ndutu is alkaline, like most of the other Rift lakes; however, the water is still drinkable and used by a wide array of local wildlife. The majority of the wildebeest migration can normally be found on the short-grass plains from December to April. The area is usually heavily populated with elephants, birds and resident game. The Ndutu region forms part of the northern section of Ngorongoro Conservation Area and stretches to the unfenced southern reaches of the Serengeti National Park, a meeting point between these two incredible wilderness areas. After lunch and an extensive game drive, head straight to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2
Full Day in Ndutu
Full Day in Ndutu
Today, you'll wake up early to experience the thrilling game drives in Southern Serengeti National Park (Ndutu). In the afternoon, you will depart for Karatu, where you will spend the night at a lodge near Ngorongoro. This allows you to descend into the Crater the following morning, when the animals are still most active.
The Southern Serengeti is one of the best places to witness the full cycle of the Great Migration. Herds return to graze in December with the onset of the green season, followed by the birth of the calves in January and February. Finally, the departure of the herds as the grass begins to dry at the end of the rainy season.

Day 3
Ndutu to Ngorongoro crater to Arusha
Ndutu to Ngorongoro crater to Arusha
After breakfast, we hit the road to experience the wonderful Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of Africa. More precisely termed a caldera, this is the best place for game viewing in all of Tanzania. An enclosed ecosystem, the caldera is home to some 25,000 large mammals.
Descending down the bumpy, winding track toward the caldera floor, we note our passage through several different climactic zones until, 600m down, we roam out onto the broad expanse. We can expect to see buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, elephant, reedbuck, and Thomson's gazelle. We may spot our predator friends like lion and cheetah lounging in the grass or in action, and some of the more than 500 bird species that inhabit this area. With a little bit of luck, we might catch a glimpse of the endangered black rhino through the grass.
After our extensive game drive within the crater, we ascend the crater and drive to Arusha or the airport.
