Fly to Semera – Drive to Ahmed-Ale

Fly from Addis Ababa to Semera. Upon arrival, meet your driver and drive to Ahmed-Ale. Observe the lifestyle of the local Afar people along the way. After settling at the campsite, take a short break before visiting Lake Asale (Salt Lake), where you can swim and enjoy the dramatic sunset. On the return to camp, watch camel caravans transporting salt blocks across the desert, creating unforgettable views. Overnight: Camping at Ahmed-Ela.

Drive to Dallol – Erta Ale

Depart early to Dallol, one of the hottest places on Earth. Explore the colorful and surreal landscape created by sulfur springs and salt deposits. Continue to Erta Ale, a continuously active volcano with the world’s only permanent lava lake. Pass through fields of solidified lava rocks before arriving at the campsite. Trek to the crater rim to witness the glowing lava lake at sunset. Overnight: Open-air huts at Erta Ale campsite.

Erta Ale – Lake Afdera – Semera

Wake early for a sunrise visit to the Erta Ale crater rim to witness volcanic activity in daylight. After breakfast, drive to Lake Afdera, a salt lake where you can swim and relax after your Danakil trek. In the afternoon, return to Semera for an overnight stay. Overnight: Hotel in Semera.

Semera – Awash National Park

Drive from Semera to Awash National Park, famous for woodlands, grasslands, and the scenic Awash River. Explore the park, enjoying breathtaking views of the Awash Gorge. Visit natural hot springs, a palm-tree oasis, and a nearby lake for a relaxing swim. Overnight: Lodge within or near Awash National Park.

Awash National Park – Addis Ababa

After breakfast, visit the Awash Falls and embark on a game drive to spot wildlife such as oryx, kudu, gazelles, olive baboons, and warthogs. In the afternoon, drive back to Addis Ababa. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner at a traditional Ethiopian restaurant featuring dancers and musicians representing various ethnic groups. Transfer to your hotel or the airport. End of Tour.
