Day 1

Rhino tracking and top of the falls hike

Rhino tracking and top of the falls hike

The adventure begins with an early morning departure from Kampala, heading north through Uganda’s rolling countryside dotted with villages, plantations, and roadside markets. The drive takes about five to six hours, with a stop in Masindi for refreshments before continuing toward the park. On arrival, the journey leads to the Nile River crossing, where a short ferry ride offers glimpses of hippos and crocodiles along the banks. The afternoon is dedicated to hiking to the top of the falls, following a trail that grows louder with the thunderous roar of the Nile forcing itself through a narrow seven-meter gorge before plunging forty-three meters below. Mist rises, rainbows shimmer in the sunlight, and the sheer power of the water creates an unforgettable spectacle. Standing at the summit, you feel the ground tremble beneath your feet as the river crashes into the abyss. As evening approaches, you settle into your lodge or campsite, enjoy dinner surrounded by the sounds of the wild.

Day 2

Game drive and boat cruise

Game drive and boat cruise

Early morning game drive across the savannah plains of Murchison Falls National Park, where the cool dawn air and golden light create perfect conditions for spotting wildlife. Lions may be seen stalking prey, elephants move in family groups, giraffes stretch above the acacia trees, and herds of antelope graze peacefully. The drive offers a chance to witness the park’s rich biodiversity and capture memorable photographs. After returning to the lodge for breakfast and some rest, the afternoon is reserved for a boat cruise along the Nile. The slow journey upstream reveals hippos wallowing in the water, crocodiles basking on the banks, and countless bird species including kingfishers and fish eagles. The highlight comes as the boat approaches the base of Murchison Falls, where the Nile crashes through the narrow gorge with immense power. The spray and thunderous roar provide a dramatic finale to the day, before returning to kampala where we shall drop you off at your hotel.
