Nairobi-Masai Mara National Reserve

The safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Nairobi or Airport. After a short meet and greet, you’ll depart the city and begin your scenic journey towards the spectacular Maasai Mara National Reserve; the home to big 5 animals such as African lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, and Cape buffalo and the place where the annual wildebeest migration occurs. Along the way, enjoy a brief stop at the Great Rift Valley Viewpoint. The journey continues until you reach Maasai Mara in time for lunch at your lodge. After settling in and relaxing, you will go out for your afternoon game drive across the vast savannah. This initial game drive offers a chance to spot the Big Five. Between July and October, you will witness the famous Great Migration, where over a million wildebeest and zebras thunder across the Mara plains and brave crocodile-infested rivers in search of greener pastures. In the evening, return to the Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Masai Mara National Reserve

After an early breakfast, head out for a full-day game drive across the plains of Maasai Mara with a packed picnic lunch. You’ll drive through various parts of the park, possibly reaching the Mara River near the Kenya-Tanzania border, giving you a chance to see hippos and basking crocodiles. Your guide will lead you to excellent vantage points and share fascinating insights about animal behavior and the ecosystem. Enjoy your picnic lunch at a scenic spot in the reserve before with the game drive in the afternoon. As the day comes to an end, you will return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay, with the option to relax around a campfire.

Masai Mara National Reserve -Nairobi

This your final day of the safari, enjoy a relaxed breakfast before checking out of your lodge. Before leaving the reserve, you can have an optional visit to a nearby Maasai village (manyatta) where you’ll be welcomed with traditional songs and dances. This cultural experience gives you insight into the Maasai people’s way of life, including their colorful beadwork, unique housing, and strong connection to the land and wildlife. Afterwards, you will begin your drive back to Nairobi, with a final brief stop at the Great Rift Valley Viewpoint for one last experience of the escarpment. En route, you’ll break for lunch at a local restaurant (at your own cost), then continue the journey to the city. You’ll arrive in Nairobi by late afternoon, with drop-off at your hotel, or the Airport.
