After an early breakfast, depart Kigali and drive north through Rwanda’s scenic countryside toward Volcanoes National Park. Rolling hills, rural villages, and terraced farms define the journey. On arrival, attend a short briefing at park headquarters before entering the bamboo forest for the Golden Monkey Trek. These playful and fast-moving primates offer a lively forest experience and excellent photography opportunities.

After the trek, begin the cross-border drive into Uganda via the Cyanika or Katuna border. Continue through the Kigezi Highlands, often called the Switzerland of Africa, toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Expect winding roads, panoramic views, and a gradual transition into dense rainforest. Arrive at your lodge in the evening, settle in, and enjoy dinner while listening to forest sounds.
