The park is named after the Tarangire River, which flows through its heart and serves as the main source of water for wildlife during the dry season. During your game drive, you may also encounter giraffes, bushbucks, hartebeests, and a wide variety of other plains game. These herbivores are closely followed by predators such as lions and leopards. Tarangire is also a paradise for bird lovers, boasting more breeding bird species than any other park in the world.
