Depart Entebbe early in the morning and journey north through Uganda's countryside toward Murchison Falls National Park. Along the way, you'll pass local towns, farmlands, and scenic landscapes that offer a glimpse into everyday life beyond the city. Upon arrival in the park, head straight to one of Uganda's most iconic natural wonders—the Top of Murchison Falls.

Here, you'll witness the mighty Nile River squeeze through a narrow 7-meter gorge before plunging over 40 meters below with force. The roar of the water, rising mist, and dramatic views make this one of the most impressive sights in East Africa. You'll then continue to your lodge for relaxation and an overnight stay.

Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda's largest protected area and is home to a remarkable diversity of wildlife, landscapes, and birdlife. The falls themselves are considered the centerpiece of the park and one of the most powerful waterfalls on the African continent.

Wildlife Safari, Nile Boat Cruise & Return to Entebbe

Begin your day before sunrise as you set out across the park for an early morning game drive. This is the best time to spot wildlife as temperatures are cooler and animals are more active. You may encounter elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, warthogs, and, if fortune smiles, lions or leopards moving through the savannah.

At 11:00 AM, board a boat for a cruise along the Nile toward the base of Murchison Falls. The riverbanks are alive with wildlife, offering close-up views of hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, and a rich variety of bird species. As you approach the falls, you'll witness the power of the Nile from a completely different perspective before disembarking and beginning your journey back to Entebbe.

The Nile boat cruise is often regarded as the highlight of a visit to Murchison Falls, providing some of Uganda's best wildlife viewing and photography opportunities from the water.
