Upon arrival in Arusha or at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by your driver- guide and begin your journey towards Lake Natron. The drive takes approximately 6–7 hours and offers stunning views of the Great Rift Valley, volcanic mountains, and Maasai villages.
Upon arrival, you will rest no later than 11:00 PM you will start hiking on the lower slopes of Ol
Doinyo Lengai, an active volcano sacred to the Maasai.

Today is dedicated to exploring the Lake Natron region after breakfast, one of the most unique and least visited areas in Tanzania. In the early morning, visit the shores of Lake Natron to witness thousands of lesser flamingos that nest in its alkaline waters. The lake’s eerie beauty is enhanced by the reflection of the surrounding mountains. Later in the day, hike to the scenic Ngare Sero Waterfalls, a refreshing walk through a narrow gorge with flowing streams. You may also have the chance to visit a Maasai village to learn about their traditional lifestyle and culture.
The day ends with time to relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this remote location.

Day 3
Drive to Serengeti National Park
Drive to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, depart Lake Natron and drive to Serengeti National Park via the remote and scenic Klein’s Gate. This drive, which takes about 6–7 hours, passes through rugged landscapes and wildlife areas within the Loliondo region. As you approach the Serengeti, the landscape begins to open up into vast savannahs. Upon entering the park, enjoy a game drive en route to your lodge or camp. This northern corridor of the Serengeti is rich with wildlife and offers the opportunity to see animals even before reaching the central plains. Arrive at your accommodation in the late afternoon or early evening and prepare for a full day of safari the next day.

Spend a full day exploring the Central Serengeti, particularly the Seronera Valley, known for its abundant wildlife and excellent predator sightings. This area is home to large prides of lions, leopards often found resting in acacia trees, and cheetahs roaming the open plains. Depending on the season, you may also witness parts of the Great Migration as herds of wildebeest and zebras move in search of fresh grazing. The day will be filled with game drives across varied landscapes including kopjes, rivers, and open grasslands. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild and return to camp in the evening as the sun sets over the savannah.

Today offers another opportunity to immerse yourself in the wonders of the Serengeti. Begin with an early morning game drive to catch predators at their most active and enjoy the golden sunrise over the plains. You may explore new areas such as the Moru Kopjes, home to black rhinos and ancient rock art, or follow the wildlife as they move across the ecosystem. Optional activities include a hot air balloon safari at dawn, providing a breathtaking aerial view of the park. With a flexible schedule, you can decide with your guide how to spend the day based on animal sightings and your preferences.

Upon arrival at the Ngorongoro Crater rim, you'll descend into the crater itself for an unforgettable game drive experience. The Ngorongoro Crater is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and often referred to as the “Eighth Wonder of the World” due to its breathtaking beauty and rich biodiversity. The crater floor, measuring about 260 square kilometers, is home to a dense population of wildlife, including elephants, lions, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, and a large number of bird species. Most notably, it offers one of the best chances to spot the critically endangered black rhino. The crater’s unique ecosystem supports a remarkable concentration of animals in a relatively small area, making sightings highly probable. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated spot within the crater, often near a hippo pool. You will then retire to your accommodation overlooking the crater, where you can reflect on the day’s incredible encounters as the sun sets over this natural marvel.

After breakfast you will visit Lake Eyasi Upon arrival, you will meet the Hadzabe people, one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer tribes in Africa. With the help of a local guide, you’ll witness their traditional way of life, including bow-and-arrow hunting techniques, wild fruit gathering, and fire-making without matches. Their language, rich in click consonants, is unlike any other in Tanzania. You’ll also visit the nearby Datoga tribe, skilled blacksmiths and pastoralists, known for their metalworking craftsmanship and traditional dress. Interacting with both tribes offers a rare cultural insight into lifestyles that have changed little over thousands of years. In the late afternoon, begin your drive back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro for your evening flight or overnight stay, concluding your immersive journey through Tanzania’s Northern Circuit. End of the Tip.
