Upon arrival in Kigali, you will be warmly welcomed by our professional driver guide and begin a guided city tour that introduces you to Rwanda’s vibrant culture, history, and remarkable transformation. After an early breakfast, transfer to the headquarters of Volcanoes National Park for a detailed briefing before setting out on your guided golden monkey trek. Day 3

Gorilla Trek and Batwa

Begin your day with an early breakfast before transferring to the headquarters of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a comprehensive gorilla trekking briefing. Accompanied by experienced guides and trackers, you will venture into the dense rainforest in search of a habituated gorilla family. The trek may take between 2 and 6 hours depending on their movement, but the reward is extraordinary. Once located, you will spend up to one magical hour observing these gentle giants as they feed, groom, and interact an emotional and unforgettable wildlife encounter.

After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, visit the Batwa community for a rich cultural experience, where you will learn about their ancient forest lifestyle through traditional dances, storytelling, and demonstrations of survival skills passed down through generations.

After an early breakfast, depart from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and enjoy a scenic drive to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey offers beautiful views of rolling hills, rural villages, and lush tea plantations along the way.

Arrive in Ishasha around midday and enjoy lunch before heading out for an afternoon game drive across the open savannah plains. This remote sector is renowned for its rare tree climbing lions, often spotted resting in fig trees. You may also encounter elephants, buffaloes, topis, and a wide variety of bird species as you explore the wilderness.

Begin your day with an early morning game drive across the Kasenyi plains in Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of the park’s prime wildlife viewing areas. This vast savannah is known for large lion prides, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, hyenas, and numerous antelope species. The cool morning hours provide the best opportunity to witness predators on the move and capture incredible wildlife moments.

After the drive, return to the lodge for a late breakfast and some relaxation. In the afternoon, head to the Kazinga Channel for a two hour boat cruise along the natural waterway linking Lake George and Lake Edward. The channel hosts one of Africa’s highest concentrations of hippos, alongside crocodiles, elephants at the shoreline, buffaloes cooling off, and abundant birdlife including kingfishers, pelicans, and African fish eagles.

Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
