Your private driver-guide meets you at your Nairobi hotel or JKIA for a safari briefing before departing for Lake Naivasha (approximately 1.5-2 hours drive). The scenic journey passes through the Great Rift Valley with photo opportunities at the viewpoint. Arrive at your mid-range lodge in time for lunch, checking into comfortable accommodations—perhaps with lake views. After lunch, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Naivasha, getting close to hippos and watching fish eagles dive for prey. You'll have the option to visit Crescent Island for a guided walking safari among giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and impalas—a unique experience that brings you closer to wildlife than vehicle-based safaris. Activity: Morning at Leisure & Afternoon Game Drive
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your lodge, perhaps taking a morning walk around the grounds or relaxing by the pool. Mid-morning, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park (approximately 1.5-2 hours drive). Arrive at your mid-range lodge in time for lunch. In the afternoon (around 4:00 PM), embark on a private game drive in this renowned park. Lake Nakuru is famous for its flamingo flocks (subject to water levels) and is a designated rhino sanctuary, offering excellent chances to see both black and white rhinos. You'll also encounter Rothschild giraffes, buffalo, waterbuck, and possibly leopards in the acacia woodlands. The park's Makalia Waterfalls add scenic beauty to your game drive. Return to your lodge as the sun sets for dinner and overnight.

Rise early for a morning game drive in Lake Nakuru to catch the soft light over the lake and increase your chances of spotting rhinos and lions near the shoreline. Return for breakfast, check out, and depart for the iconic Maasai Mara National Reserve. The drive takes approximately 5-6 hours through the Great Rift Valley, with lunch en-route. Arrive at your mid-range lodge or camp in the late afternoon, check in, and enjoy some refreshments. Head out for an evening game drive (around 4:00-6:00 PM) to get your first taste of the Mara's incredible wildlife density. Look for elephants, lions, leopards, and the vast plains game that make this reserve world-famous. Today is the highlight of your safari. Start with a sunrise game drive (around 6:30 AM) when predators are most active and the light is perfect for photography. Return to the lodge for breakfast, then head out for a full day of exploration with a picnic lunch. Your private guide will customize the day based on wildlife movements, searching for the Big Five and the Mara's famous predators. If visiting between July and October, you'll head towards the Mara River to witness the dramatic wildebeest crossings.

You'll arrive in Nairobi by mid-afternoon and be dropped off at your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), marking the end of your comfortable and memorable midrange safari.
