Day 1

Kigali - Transfer To Akagera National Park

Kigali - Transfer To Akagera National Park

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your Driver Guide and transferred to Akagera National Park, Rwanda’s only savannah park and home to the Big Five.

Arrive at Mantis Akagera Game Lodge, where you will be assisted with check-in. After a short rest, enjoy a half game drive through the park as you make your way to Lake Ihema for a sunset boat safari, offering wonderful opportunities to see hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of birdlife along the lake shores.

Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay at Akagera Game Lodge.

Day 2

Akagera National Park Full Game Drive

After an early breakfast head into Akagera National Park for a full-day game drive exploring the park’s diverse landscapes and incredible wildlife.

Akagera offers excellent opportunities to spot Africa’s Big Five, including lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, and rhinos. Along the way, you may also encounter giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and many other fascinating animals.

The park is also a birding paradise, attracting bird enthusiasts from around the world with its rich variety of bird species. In addition, the park’s beautiful lakes, rolling savannah plains, and scenic hills provide fantastic photography opportunities for nature lovers.

Enjoy a picnic lunch en route at one of the scenic spots within the park before continuing with the game drive.

Later in the afternoon, exit the park and transfer back to Kigali for drop-off at Kigali International Airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your memorable safari in Rwanda.
