Day 2

Explore Ramena River by Pirogue and Ambobaka Village

Explore Ramena River by Pirogue and Ambobaka Village

Meeting at the west coast hotel in Nosy Be and transferring to the port of Hellville.
Boarding of a fast boat (40 minutes of navigation), arrival in Ankify.
Excursion: Ramena River by Pirogue and Ambobaka Village—30 minutes by road and 1 hour on
rough track.
Departure from Ankify toward Ambanja.
We will begin our excursion by visiting the plantations (cocoa, vanilla, ylang-ylang, pepper,
patchouli, vetiver) and then take the track that will lead us to the remote Sambirano River and the
Bons Pères Waterfall.
Descent by pirogue along the riverbanks.
Return to Ambanja. Lunch at a local restaurant.
Transfer from Ambanja to Ambilobe.
Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3

Departure from Ambilobe heading north.
We will travel on a rough road for approximately 135 km through rice fields, villages, and
ever-changing landscapes until reaching Diego Suarez
Visit to Ankarana East National Park
Visit of Mahamasina Park, located about halfway between Ankify and Diego Suarez, with a
certified Madagascar guide.
The park features dry tropical forest and uneven forest trails.
The itinerary varies depending on available time and physical condition, ranging from 2.5 to 4
hours of walking.
Different circuits are possible in agreement with the guide, including: La Perte de Rivière, The
Tsingy Tower, the Tsingy Rary, the Suspension Bridge, and the Bat Cave.
Lunch at the small restaurant Chez Aurélien, a typical Malagasy establishment located at the
entrance of Ankarana Park.
In the afternoon, transfer to Diego Suarez
We will continue for approximately 3.5 hours through ever-changing landscape to the
city of Diego Suarez.
Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Emerald Sea—1 hour by car to the village of Ramena and 1 hour by traditional boat
Meeting time with the guide at the hotel will depend on the tides.
Departure from Diego Suarez by car to the village of Ramena, followed by a trip on a traditional
Malagasy boat (sail and motor) to the Emerald Sea, located to the north at the exit of Diego
Suarez Bay.
Lunch on the pristine island, surrounded by the magnificent waters of the Emerald Sea.
Day of relaxation on a powdery white beach.
Return to Diego Suarez will be scheduled according to the tides, before sunset.
Dinner and overnight stay.

Visit Sakalava Bay, Pigeon Bay, and Dune Bay, where we can enjoy a stunning panorama of the
Indian Ocean.
Opportunity to swim in the magnificent crystal-clear waters of the bays, sheltered from the ocean
by coral reefs and surrounded by white sandy beaches.
We will continue with a visit to the military ruins, the lighthouse, and the village of Orangea, also
overlooking a pristine white-sand beach.
Lunch at a restaurant in Ramena, a traditional fishing village, featuring fish specialties to be
enjoyed amidst a lush tropical garden.
In the afternoon, walk in Ramena, a picturesque fishing village, where we will see the fishermen
building their typical pirogues and repairing fishing nets along the splendid 3 km-long beach.
Return to Sakalava Bay.

Excursion to Pirate Bay and the Great Baobabs of the North

A day dedicated to an unusual destination on the eastern coast of Diego Suarez. We will go on a
safari along sandy tracks, immersing ourselves in the dry forest bordering the vast bay of the Indian
Ocean.
After 2 hours of off-road driving, passing through the fishing villages of Ivovona and Ambodivahibe,
among typical vegetation, pachypodium, and red rock formations, we will reach the magnificent
white sands of Pirate Bay.
Here, on the endless deserted beach, sea turtles nest, and dolphins and rays are often sighted.
Trekking within the forest to discover gigantic centennial baobabs.
Lunch at a local restaurant in Antalaha Bay.
Continuation along the coast to Sakalava Bay.
Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Departure from Diego Suarez heading south through ever-changing landscapes, rice fields, palm
forests, and plantations. We will then turn west to reach Joffreville, the gateway to Montagne
d'Ambre National Park.
Visit to Montagne d'Ambre National PARK
Visit the park with a certified guide for a walk of approximately 2.5 hours. Evergreen forest with a humid tropical microclimate, forest trails, botanical paths, and waterfalls.
The park is home to 7 species of lemurs and a variety of endemic terrestrial species that can be observed in their natural environment.
Lunch at Le Relais de la Montagne d'Ambre, an old colonial house surrounded by a magnificenttropical garden decorated with flowers and various tropical plants such as lychee, cocoa, vanilla,
coffee, cinnamon, and pepper.
Here we can visit their carefully curated garden of medicinal and aromatic plants, from which
essential oils and healing balms are extracted according to local tradition.
Return to the hotel
