Extensive Game Drive in search of the big 5
On Day 2, your immersion begins at 6:30 AM to catch predators active in the cool dawn. After a quick camp breakfast, you head deep into the reserve for a full-day exploration.
The Picnic Lunch Experience:
Instead of returning to camp, lunch is served in the heart of the wild. Your guide selects a safe, scenic spot—typically under a classic Acacia tree overlooking the plains. You’ll enjoy a pre-packed meal (chicken, sandwiches, fruit, and juice) while watching zebras and gazelles graze in the distance. It’s a true "Out of Africa" moment.
Optional Activities:
Hot Air Balloon Safari: Start at 5:00 AM for a sunrise flight followed by a Champagne Bush Breakfast.
Maasai Village Visit: In the late afternoon, visit a local Manyatta to learn about nomadic life, traditional fire-making, and join the iconic jumping dance.
This flexible schedule ensures you maximize sightings of the Big Five and the Great Migration.

Lake Nakuru is now a rhino sanctuary, harbouring a population of over 40 black and over 60 white rhinos, but the flamingoes, of course, have always been the main attraction. Lake Nakuru to Lake Naivasha
Morning: After breakfast, enjoy a final mid-morning game drive in Nakuru. Depart for the freshwater Lake Naivasha, arriving for a hot lunch. It is the highest and the most beautiful of the Rift Valley lakes. Naivasha is yet another area popular for bird watching (over 400 species have been recorded). It is also a favorite weekend retreat for Nairobi residents, who come here to sail, water ski and fish.
There are no crocodiles in the lake as the water is too cold for them, due to altitude but there are a number of hippos. Along the lake shore, vineyards produce grapes for the country's fledging wine industry.
Afternoon: Experience a 1-hour boat safari ($15–$25) to see pods of hippos and fish eagles.
Evening: Dinner and overnight at a Naivasha Kongoni Lodge.
