A Boat Safari in the Great Rift Valley

Depart from Nairobi to Lake Naivasha (1.5 hours), where you’ll stay at Sopa Resort. Situated on the lakeshore, the lodge features extensive gardens and frequently sees wildlife like bushbuck, zebra, and giraffe roaming around. It offers a restaurant and a lounge/bar area with leather sofas and fireplaces to enjoy the cool Naivasha evenings. The spacious rooms are set in Swahili-style chalets with either a balcony or a glass-fronted lounge for relaxing and wildlife viewing.

After lunch, embark on a boat safari across the lake, where you'll see hippos and a variety of bird species, including fish eagles and pelicans. Near the end of the boat trip, you'll stop at Crescent Island for a guided bush walk, allowing you to get close to plains mammals like giraffe and wildebeest. Following the bush walk, return to the lodge for the evening, enjoy dinner, and watch hippos emerge from the lake to graze.
