Day 1

Arrival and sunset mokoro ride on the Boteti River

Arrival and sunset mokoro ride on the Boteti River

Your Botswana expedition begins at Maun Airport, where you will receive a warm welcome from your professional ranger and guide. A brief twenty-minute transfer brings you to the Boteti Tented Safari Lodge, a picturesque retreat overlooking the tranquil river.

After a refreshing complimentary drink and orientation, take the afternoon to settle in, enjoy a swim in the pool, or observe hippos and vibrant waterbirds directly from the lodge deck.

As the golden hour approaches, you will board a traditional mokoro to glide silently along the river’s edge, seeking out crocodiles and diverse birdlife while your guide shares insights into this delicate ecosystem.

If water levels are low, you will instead visit Xobe Village for an authentic cultural experience featuring traditional dances and local craft demonstrations.

The evening concludes with a traditionally prepared dinner served around a crackling open fire (or the dining deck) under a brilliant canopy of stars.
