Maasai Mara National Reserve
Spend a full day in the Maasai Mara. After breakfast, enjoy a full-day game drive with a packed lunch provided. The reserve is well known for its black-maned lions and abundant resident wildlife, and is one of the few places where it is possible to see the Big Five during a single morning game drive. Some cheetahs are so accustomed to vehicles that they seek shade beneath them during the heat of the day, while others may even climb onto the roof for a better view of potential prey. For bird enthusiasts, nearly 500 species have been recorded, including 16 species of eagles, numerous hawks and falcons, six species of vultures, eight species of storks, four species of bustards—including the Kori bustard, the world’s heaviest flying bird—and nine species of sunbirds. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a campsite or lodge.

Serengeti National Park
Spend a full day in the Serengeti with a flexible schedule and unlimited mileage. As you crest the hillside, the vast plains stretch endlessly before you—true to its name, Serengeti, meaning “endless plains” in Kiswahili. This 6,900 sq. mile (18,000 sq. km) park is home to more than two million large animals, including over a million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of plains zebras, and Thomson’s gazelles. Predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas are drawn to the area by this abundant migrating prey. The park also supports a wide variety of smaller wildlife, including rock hyrax, bat-eared foxes, mongooses, honey badgers, jackals, monkeys, baboons, and African hares, along with nearly 500 bird species. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive en route to the campsite. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a public campsite or private tented camp/lodge.

In the afternoon, transfer to Ngorongoro, often called the Eighth Natural Wonder of the World. With crater walls rising about 2,000 feet and a floor covering roughly 102 square miles, it forms a natural enclosure often compared to Noah’s Ark, supporting almost every species of wildlife native to East Africa, including the rare black rhino. It is known for having one of the highest concentrations of wildlife on the planet, and its large bull elephants are especially remarkable for their impressive tusks, enriched by the mineral-rich volcanic soil and vegetation.
