Day 1

Arrival in Arusha

Arrival in Arusha

Your adventure begins upon arrival in Arusha, the gateway to Tanzania’s northern safari circuit. You will be welcomed and transferred to your campsite or lodge, where you can relax after your journey and meet your safari guide and team.

This day is mainly for preparation and briefing, where you’ll receive a detailed overview of the 4-day camping safari, including routes, wildlife expectations, and safety guidelines. Take time to organize your gear and enjoy views of Mount Meru on clear days.
If time allows, you may enjoy a short Arusha town tour, visiting local markets, craft shops, and cultural spots to experience everyday life in the city.
In the evening, enjoy dinner at the hotel and your first night under the African sky, surrounded by the sounds of nature.

Day 2

Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, depart Arusha and drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a compact but diverse park set at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Begin your game drive through lush groundwater forests where troops of baboons and blue monkeys are commonly seen. As you move into open woodlands and grassy plains, look out for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, and antelopes grazing in scenic surroundings.
The park is especially famous for its tree-climbing lions, often spotted resting in acacia branches, as well as large flocks of flamingos and other waterbirds along the lake shoreline. Hippos can also be seen cooling off in shallow waters.

Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park while taking in the stunning scenery of the lake and escarpment. In the afternoon, continue wildlife viewing before heading to your campsite for dinner and an overnight stay under the stars.

Day 3

Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast, descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife destinations and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The crater floor offers an incredible density of wildlife, making it one of the best places to spot the Big Five in a single day.

Enjoy a full-day game drive across the open grasslands, where you may see lions, elephants, buffalo, and the rare black rhino. Large herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles roam freely, while hyenas and jackals patrol the plains. Hippos can be found in pools, and flamingos often gather in the soda lakes.
The scenery is equally breathtaking, with dramatic crater walls rising around you and diverse habitats including forests, wetlands, and savannah. After a picnic lunch on the crater floor, continue wildlife viewing before ascending back to the rim. In the evening, return to camp for dinner and overnight rest.

Tarangire National park to Arusha

Tarangire National park to Arusha

After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, a park famous for its vast elephant herds and iconic baobab-dotted landscapes. Enjoy a game drive along the Tarangire River, which attracts large numbers of wildlife including zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, buffalo, and various antelope species. Predators such as lions and leopards may also be spotted, along with diverse birdlife that makes the park especially vibrant.
The scenery is classic African wilderness open savannah, ancient baobab trees, and seasonal swamps creating a rich and scenic habitat. After a picnic lunch and final game viewing, begin your journey back to Arusha, arriving in the evening. This marks the end of your unforgettable 4-day camping safari adventure.
