Nairobi to Sirimon Gate (2650) - Old Moses (3300m)

After pick-up in Nairobi, you will enjoy a scenic drive to Nanyuki, crossing the equator on the way to the Sirimon Park Gate (2,660m). After park registration, the journey continues through beautiful montane forest, bamboo, and giant heather zones before reaching the high-altitude moorlands and Old Moses Camp at 3,300m. Dinner and overnight will be at a private campsite, with the day offering a gentle and enjoyable trek.

Trek from Old Moses Camp - Shipton Camp (4200m)

After breakfast, the trek continues uphill along the trail, branching right at the junction before a short water break. The route crosses the Ontulili River and contours through the moorland before crossing the Liki North River and ascending into Mackinder’s Valley, where panoramic views stretch toward Shipton Camp. Nestled beneath towering peaks and glaciers, the camp offers a spectacular alpine setting and is home to wildlife such as rock hyraxes and colorful sunbirds.

Shipton to Pt Lenana (4985m) - Old Moses (3300m)

Your summit adventure begins at 3:00 am with an early ascent to Point Lenana in time to witness the spectacular African sunrise. The climb follows frozen scree and rocky trails with a few minor scrambles, and on clear nights the star-filled, pollution-free sky creates an unforgettable experience. After approximately 3–4 hours of climbing, you may also catch views of Mount Kilimanjaro on the horizon. After reaching Point Lenana, you will descend back to Shipton Camp for breakfast before continuing down through Mackinder’s Valley to Old Moses Camp at 3,300m. The gentle descent offers plenty of time to enjoy the stunning moorlands and alpine scenery before relaxing with a hot lunch. Later, a vehicle transfer through the rainforest takes you back to the Sirimon Park Gate for check-out and onward transfer to your next destination.
