Arrival
Day 1
You glide in a mokoro traditional dugout canoe, now often fiberglass propelled by a local poler using a long pole called an nkashi. Most full-day trips include several hours of poling, a guided nature walk on a remote island to spot animal tracks or smaller wildlife, and a picnic lunch. Common sightings include elephants, hippos, crocodiles, lechwe antelopes, and a vast array of birdlife and reed frogs.
