Arrival in the Masai Mara

Depart Nairobi after an early breakfast (7:00 AM) for the scenic drive southwest to the Masai Mara. The route takes you through the dramatic Great Rift Valley escarpment — a stop at the viewpoint is highly recommended for photographs across this breathtaking landscape. Continue through Narok town for a lunch stop before entering the reserve. On arrival, check in to AA Lodge Mara and head straight out for an evening game drive as the golden hour light falls across the plains.

Day 2

Full Day Game Drive

Full Day Game Drive

A full day dedicated to exploring the greatest wildlife reserve in Africa. Depart at dawn with packed picnic lunch boxes — the early morning hours are when predators are most active and the light is most spectacular for photography. The Mara is home to the Big Five and vast herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle. The tail end of the Great Migration means river crossings are still a possibility near the Mara River — your guide will position you at the best vantage points. Look out for cheetah on the open plains, leopard resting in acacia trees, and enormous lion prides. Return to camp during midday heat, then head out for the afternoon/evening drive.
