Kigali - Akagera National Park

Start with an early morning pick-up from your hotel or residence in Kigali. You’ll then begin your scenic drive to Akagera National Park, with a brief rest stop at Imigongo Restaurant in Kayonza.

Upon arrival, you’ll receive a short orientation at the park offices before beginning your introductory game drive, with chances to spot elephants, zebras, giraffes, and a wide range of bird species.

Enjoy lunch at Lake Mihindi Restaurant before continuing with game viewing into the afternoon. Later, head to the lodge for check in, dinner, and your overnight stay.

Akagera National Park

Begin with a relaxed breakfast before heading to Lake Ihema for a 9:00 a.m. guided boat ride. Look out for water birds such as the papyrus gonolek and the elusive shoebill stork. Once the boat ride is complete, head back to the jetty and rejoin your guide for a full-day game drive exploring the southern giraffe area and the Lakes Road toward Birengero. Enjoy a hot lunch at Lake Mihindi Restaurant before continuing with your afternoon game drive, with chances to see buffaloes, lions, antelopes, and possibly even leopards or white rhinos.

Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and your overnight stay.

Akagera National Park - Kigali
