Day 1

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, your professional safari guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha and drive towards Tarangire National Park.

Upon arrival, you will enter the park and begin your first game drive. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds, enormous baobab trees and diverse wildlife. Depending on the season and location of the animals, you may encounter elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, impalas, warthogs and numerous bird species.

Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park, followed by an afternoon game drive before leaving Tarangire and continuing towards the accommodation area for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, depart towards Serengeti National Park, passing through the scenic landscapes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

As you approach the Serengeti, the landscape gradually changes into the famous endless plains. After entering the park, enjoy game viewing en route towards your accommodation.

The Serengeti is renowned for its exceptional wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas and many other species. Wake up early for a morning game drive in the Serengeti, when wildlife activity can be particularly rewarding.

After breakfast, continue with further game viewing across the Serengeti. Your guide will focus on areas offering good opportunities to observe predators, herbivores and other wildlife.

Enjoy a picnic lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive as you gradually make your way towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Later in the afternoon, leave the Serengeti and continue towards the Ngorongoro highlands for your overnight stay.

The crater provides an exceptional concentration of wildlife within its enclosed ecosystem. During the game drive, you may have opportunities to see lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, hyenas, gazelles and with luck, the endangered black rhinoceros.

Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated area before continuing your afternoon game drive.

Later, ascend from the crater and return to your accommodation in Mto wa Mbu area.

Lake Manyara is located along Tanzania's Northern Circuit, near Mto wa Mbu and is known for its varied landscapes, groundwater forests, wetlands and diverse wildlife and birdlife.

Enjoy a game drive through the park, where you may encounter elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, baboons, monkeys and numerous bird species.

After the game drive, enjoy lunch before beginning your journey back to Arusha.

You will arrive in Arusha in the late afternoon or evening, marking the end of your 5-Day Tanzania Northern Circuit Safari.
