You will enjoy a Ugandan breakfast for the first time this morning and try some delicious fruits. After breakfast, it is time to start your adventure! You will first drive to the equator and have lunch (or a snack). The journey then continues to Lake Mburo National Park, where you will arrive in the late afternoon and enjoy your first game drive.

Day 3-4

Lake Mburo - Lake Bunyonyi

Good morning! The day starts with a guided walking safari, which will take about 2-3 hours. During the walk, you will see the zebra and other animals very closely! After lunch, you will head straight to Lake Bunyonyi. The journey will take you south, and the closer you get to the lake, you will understand why this area is called the African Alps. At the lake you will have time to relax and prepare for the gorilla tracking activity. Optional activities available here include a canoe tour, a visit to Punishment Island, or a trip to the local markets.

Day 5

We will drive to Kisoro via the shores of Lake Bunyonyi. After checking in at the hotel, you will enjoy a walk in the nearby village. The hotel is famous for one of the guests that stayed here, Dian Fossey. Near Kisoro, there are several traditional Batwa (the original inhabitants of this area) communities that you can visit.

After an early breakfast you will drive to the briefing point at Mgahinga National Park. Here you will be briefed by the rangers and then start tracking golden monkeys. Mgahinga National Park is a mountainous area, so hiking shoes and a walking stick are advised! After this adventure you will drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to prepare for your next adventure.

Day 7

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today we’ll eat an early, hearty breakfast to get the energy we need for gorilla trekking. Before 8:00am, we’ll report to the ranger station for registration and a trek briefing.

The guides will then take you through the bush. You’ll push through the undergrowth to track the gorillas. Please note this trek can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 5-6 hours. A reasonable degree of fitness is required, as well as a sturdy pair of walking shoes.

You’ll sit in the forest among the gorillas, listening to them ‘talk’ to one another and marvel at the sheer size of the dominant male, the silverback. It is an extraordinary feeling being in the dense rain forest knowing you are within a few feet of the last remaining mountain gorillas. It's heartbreaking and amazing to think there are only about 950 of these beautiful creatures left.

Today you will head to Queen Elizabeth National Park on a 4-to-5-hour drive meandering through the mountains. On your way there we will go on a game drive through the southern part of Queen Elizabeth, the Ishasha sector. This part of the park is famous for its tree-climbing lions.

The day will start with an early game drive to try and find the nocturnal animals. There are a few lion prides in the park, and the best chance to see them is early in the morning. Around 2:00pm you will go on a three-hour boat ride on Kazinga Channel. Later you’ll return the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

After a morning game drive, we will continue to Kibale Forest National Park. There is a huge rain forest here with an abundance of wildlife. The main reason why people come to Kibale is to meet our closest relative, the chimpanzee! But as you will soon find out, Kibale has so much more to offer. After checking in and having lunch, you will go to Bigodi Swamp for a guided tour.

Today it is finally time for tracking chimpanzees in Kibale Forest National Park. It will take several hours, and all depends on the number of chimps and the weather. After the tracking you will go for a hike to the highest point in the park, overlooking the crater lakes.

The day will begin early with a packed breakfast that we’ll eat in the vehicle. It is time to spot the animals! Murchison Falls has the largest number of Rothschild's giraffes and many other large animals. Hopefully you’ll find many of them in the delta, including some predators.

The game drive will end around 11:00am. In the afternoon we’ll go out on the water on a boat cruise to the base of the falls. Here you can leave the boat and hike to the top or return to the dock. Afterwards, you’ll be picked up by the guide and driven back the lodge.

Kotido is the home of the Jie, one of the Karamajong tribes who have maintained their traditional way of life. During the time of cattle raids, they were known for their courage and fearless battles. Many of them live in the largest manyata (village) in East Africa: Nakapelemoru, which is a collection of hundreds of homestays. Today you will pay a visit to this village and meet some of the people. This activity is one of the income generating projects in Karamoja and the communities benefit from your visit. After lunch you will drive to Moroto.

Today you’ll travel from Moroto to Sipi Falls. You’ll arrive in the late afternoon. We’ll spend part of the drive passing through a large portion of Karamoja on dusty roads and crossing the Pian Upe wildlife reserve. After this long journey you’ll arrive at the Home of Friends, where you will enjoy dinner.

After a good night’s rest, you will take a hike to the top of Sipi Falls. Climbing up you will enjoy the scenery below you and maybe take a dive in the natural pool. After lunch we’ll pay a visit to one of the local coffee farmers. Coffee from the Mount Elgon is some of the most appreciated across the world.
