Nairobi – Maasai Mara National Reserve

Your Maasai Mara adventure begins with a pick-up from the airport or your Nairobi hotel, followed by a scenic journey west through changing landscapes towards the Mara. Pause at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint to take in the dramatic escarpments and sweeping views across the valley before continuing towards Narok or your camp for a hot lunch.

The afternoon brings your first taste of the Maasai Mara as you head out on a game drive across its open savannah. Watch for elephants, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes and antelopes, with opportunities to encounter lions and other predators along the way. As the day comes to a close, return to camp for dinner and your first evening surrounded by the atmosphere of the Mara.

Full-Day Game Drive in Maasai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, set out for a full day in the Maasai Mara, exploring its rolling savannah plains with plenty of time to follow wildlife and take in the landscape. Keep your camera ready as you search for the Big Five — lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino — alongside giraffes, zebras, antelopes and an impressive variety of birdlife.

Pause at a safe and scenic location for a picnic lunch, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the wilderness. The afternoon continues with more game viewing as your guide tracks wildlife and shares insights into their behaviour and the Mara ecosystem.

Later, enjoy a complimentary Maasai village visit upon booking with us, offering an opportunity to meet members of the Maasai community, see traditional homes and gain a deeper understanding of their culture, customs and way of life. Return to camp in the evening for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay in the Mara.

Maasai Mara National Reserve –Nairobi

After breakfast, depart the Maasai Mara and begin your journey back to Nairobi through the changing landscapes of the Great Rift Valley. Along the way, stop at Lake Naivasha for a complimentary boat ride upon booking with Lassic Africa. Cruise across the calm lake as you look for hippos in the water and watch African fish eagles, cormorants and kingfishers around the shores.

For those wishing to enhance their safari experience, you may choose to enjoy an optional (at own cost ) guided nature walk, where you can walk among free-roaming giraffes, zebras and antelopes while learning about the plants, wildlife and ecosystem around the lake. Continue your journey to Nairobi for drop-off at your hotel or airport.
