After breakfast, your driver-guide will meet you and you will depart for Tarangire National Park, approximately a two-and-a-half-hour drive on well-maintained roads.

Named after the Tarangire River—often referred to as the “river of warthogs”—the park depends on this vital water source to sustain wildlife during the dry season. Tarangire is especially famous for its large elephant families, frequently seen gathering along the riverbanks. You may also encounter giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests, often closely followed by predators such as lions and leopards.

The park is a haven for birdlife, boasting more breeding bird species than anywhere else in the world, and is dotted with majestic ancient baobab trees, some estimated to be over a thousand years old. You will enjoy lunch at a scenic picnic site within the park before continuing your game drive. You will drive to Karatu, where you will check in at your accommodation for dinner at Ngorongoro Marera Mountain View Lodge.

Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will travel into the cooler Ngorongoro Conservation Area, pausing along the way to admire the breathtaking views of the Ngorongoro Crater. You will then continue across the conservation area and enter Serengeti National Park through its southern region.

The Serengeti is truly awe-inspiring, renowned for its vast open grasslands and exceptional wildlife viewing opportunities. While the park supports an incredible diversity of species year-round, it is most famous for the annual Great Migration, when millions of wildebeests, zebras, and antelopes move in search of fresh grazing. The migration occurs throughout the year, shifting locations month by month—knowing where to look makes all the difference.

You will spend the next three nights in the Serengeti, with accommodation initially planned for the Central Serengeti. Depending on the movement of the migration, your camp location may be adjusted to ensure the best possible wildlife viewing experience.

Descending into the crater is an adventure in itself. Upon reaching the crater floor, you’ll be surrounded by large herds of wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, and over 500 bird species. Lake Manyara National Park

This morning, you’ll head to Lake Manyara National Park, your final destination on this extraordinary safari! Manyara, a small yet diverse park 120km west of Arusha, offers a unique experience. It’s both compact (one of Africa’s narrowest parks) and epic (the Great Rift Escarpment towers over Lake Manyara’s western boundary).

The park’s centerpiece is a shallow, salt lake covering a large area, fluctuating with the seasons and hosting thousands of wading birds, including flamingos and over 500 other bird species. You’ll spot baboons and elephants in the park’s dense evergreen forest, and be on the lookout for the famed tree-climbing lions.
