Transfer from Kigali to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Your driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel or Kigali International Airport in the morning for a safari briefing. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy a short Kigali city tour before departing for Uganda. Drive through Rwanda’s beautiful rolling hills to the Cyanika or Katuna border and complete immigration formalities before continuing to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Along the journey, enjoy scenic views of terraced hills, local villages, and lush countryside. Arrive at your lodge in the afternoon or evening, check in, relax, and enjoy dinner while preparing for the gorilla trekking experience.

Gorilla Trekking and Return to Kigali

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers on gorilla trekking regulations and safety guidelines. Accompanied by experienced guides and trackers, enter the forest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek may take between two and six hours depending on the gorillas’ location. Once the gorillas are found, spend one unforgettable hour observing them in their natural habitat as they feed, play, and interact. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and refreshments before beginning the drive back to Kigali. Arrive in Kigali in the evening and transfer to your hotel or Kigali International Airport, marking the end of your safari.
