Day 2

After breakfast, embark on a guided city tour of Kigali. Day 3

After breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing before tracking the rare golden monkeys in the bamboo forests of Volcanoes National Park. The trek takes 1-4 hours, and you'll have one hour to observe these striking primates as they leap through the bamboo. After the trek, cross into Uganda and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (approx. 3-4 hours), home to nearly half of the world's remaining mountain gorillas. Arrive in the evening and settle into your lodge.

Today is the highlight of your safari! After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking rules and safety. Accompanied by experienced rangers and trackers, enter the dense, misty forest in search of a habituated gorilla family. The trek can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the movement of the gorillas. Once located, you will spend one magical hour observing the silverback, mothers nursing their young, and juveniles playing in the trees. The experience is profound, humbling, and life-changing. Return to your lodge for a well-earned rest.

Option 2: Experience the Batwa Cultural Experience – learn about the traditional hunter-gatherer lifestyle of the Batwa people, the original forest dwellers. Walk through the forest with them as they demonstrate medicinal plants, hunting techniques, and share their ancient traditions through song and dance.

After breakfast, drive to Lake Bunyonyi (approx. 2-3 hours), Africa's second-deepest lake and one of Uganda's most beautiful destinations. Arrive and check into your lodge with stunning views of the terraced hills rising from crystal-clear waters. In the afternoon, take a canoe ride to explore the lake's 29 islands, each with its own fascinating history. Swim in the bilharzia-free waters or simply relax and soak in the serene atmosphere.
