Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional guide and transferred to your hotel in Kigali. The remainder of the day is at leisure to relax after your flight. Optional Kigali City Tour visiting the Kigali Genocide Memorial, Kimironko Market, among other amazing sites.

Day 2
Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
After breakfast, you'll depart Kigali and enjoy a scenic drive to Nyungwe National Park. En route, you may visit the Ethnographic Museum in Huye if time permits. You'll continue through Rwanda's picturesque countryside before arriving at your lodge in the evening.

Chimpanzee Trekking & Canopy Walk

You rise early for an exciting chimpanzee trekking experience in Nyungwe National Park. Once located, you'll enjoy an unforgettable hour observing the chimpanzees in their natural habitat. After lunch, you return to the park for the famous canopy walk, offering breathtaking views over the rainforest canopy.

Day 4

Following breakfast, you will depart for Gisenyi on the shores of Lake Kivu. You'll spend the afternoon relaxing by the lakeside or choose to join an optional canoe excursion with the traditional singing fishermen. These experiences offer you a close interaction with the local people and provide an opportunity to immerse yourself in their culture and traditions.

Day 5

Lake Kivu Boat Cruise & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, you will enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Kivu, including a visit to the nearby hot springs. Later, you will continue to Volcanoes National Park — the best gorilla trekking destination in Africa. You'll arrive at the lodge in the evening, check in at your lodge for an evening of rest, and spend the night.

First Gorilla Trekking Experience & Cultural Tour
After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing before your first mountain gorilla trekking adventure. You'll spend one magical hour with the gorillas after locating your assigned family. In the afternoon, you will visit Gorilla Guardians Village for a cultural experience.

Second Gorilla Trekking Experience & Return to Kigali
Second Gorilla Trekking Experience & Return to Kigali
You will return to the park headquarters for another briefing before embarking on your second gorilla trekking adventure with a different gorilla family. This second gorilla trek allows you to witness the different gorilla family dynamics. After the trek, you will transfer back to Kigali.

Transfer to Akagera National Park
After breakfast, you depart Kigali for Akagera National Park. Upon arrival, you will enjoy your first game drive through Rwanda's only savannah national park, and the perfect place to see some of the most sought after Africa wildlife species, including the Big Five — lion, leopard, cape buffalo, rhinos, and elephants.

Game Drive & Lake Ihema Boat Cruise

You'll start the day with an early morning game drive through the northern sector of Akagera National Park. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a relaxing boat cruise on Lake Ihema, where you may encounter hippos, Nile crocodiles, and a variety of water birds. As the sunsets, you will return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
