Kampala to Murchison falls National Park Via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Early in the morning, your safari guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala and begin your journey northwards to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and one of the most spectacular national parks. Known as a true gem of Uganda’s wilderness, the park is home to an impressive diversity of wildlife, including 76 mammal species and over 450 bird species.

En route, you will make a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Uganda’s only home for wild rhinos, where you will enjoy a guided rhino tracking experience on foot. Spend approximately two hours walking through the sanctuary with knowledgeable guides as you learn about rhino conservation efforts and observe these magnificent creatures in their natural environment.

After the rhino tracking adventure, you will enjoy lunch before continuing your scenic drive towards Murchison Falls National Park. As you approach the park, enjoy beautiful views of Uganda’s countryside and landscapes before arriving in the evening at lodge.

Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

Start the day with an early morning breakfast and head for game drive across the savannah plains of Murchison Falls National Park, when wildlife is most active. Explore different tracks within the park while searching for elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, lions, antelopes, warthogs, and, if you are lucky, leopards. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation

In the afternoon, embark on a boat cruise along the River Nile towards the base of Murchison Falls. This relaxing excursion offers excellent opportunities to view hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and a variety of bird species along the riverbanks while enjoying the beautiful scenery.

After the boat cruise, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Delta Boat safari and top of the falls hike

After an early breakfast, embark on a boat safari to the Nile Delta, one of the best locations in the park for birdwatching and wildlife viewing. This excursion offers an excellent opportunity to spot a variety of bird species, including the rare and sought-after shoebill stork, as well as crocodiles, hippos, elephants, and buffaloes along the riverbanks.

Return to the lodge for lunch and some time to relax before proceeding to the Top of the Falls in the afternoon. Here, you will witness the mighty Nile squeezing through a narrow 7-meter gorge before plunging 43 meters below, creating one of the most spectacular sights in Uganda.

After enjoying the breathtaking views and taking photographs, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at your lodge before checking out and beginning your scenic journey back to Kampala. As you drive through Uganda’s beautiful countryside, take in the views of rolling hills, farmlands, and vibrant local communities along the way.

You will have a stopover for lunch before continueing the journey, allowing you time to refresh and enjoy a taste of Ugandan cuisine before continuing with your journey.

Arrive in Kampala in the late afternoon, where you will be dropped off at the airport, marking the end of your unforgettable safari adventure.
