After an early breakfast, transfer to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a briefing before beginning your golden monkey trekking adventure. These lively and endangered primates are endemic to the Virunga Mountains and are renowned for their playful nature and striking golden-orange fur. Accompanied by experienced park rangers, you'll walk through the park's bamboo forests as you search for a habituated troop, enjoying one hour observing their energetic behaviour once they are located. After returning from the trek, enjoy lunch before departing Rwanda for Uganda via the Cyanika Border. Continue through the scenic highlands of southwestern Uganda towards Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that protects nearly half of the world's remaining mountain gorillas. Arrive at Gorilla Mist Lodge in the evening, where you can unwind and prepare for tomorrow's unforgettable gorilla trekking experience.

Day 3

Today is the highlight of your safari as you set out to meet the endangered mountain gorillas of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Following breakfast, you'll report to the Uganda Wildlife Authority headquarters for registration and a comprehensive briefing before entering the rainforest with experienced ranger guides. The trek may last anywhere from two to six hours depending on the location of your allocated gorilla family, taking you through dense vegetation and rugged forest terrain while learning about this remarkable ecosystem. Once the gorillas are found, you'll spend a magical hour observing them as they feed, groom, play and interact naturally within their family group. After returning from the trek and receiving your certificate, depart for the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi. Surrounded by terraced hills and dotted with numerous islands.

Wake up to the peaceful beauty of Lake Bunyonyi, one of Africa's deepest and most picturesque lakes. After breakfast, enjoy a guided boat excursion across its calm waters, visiting some of the lake's famous islands while learning about their history, local communities and cultural significance. The tranquil cruise provides excellent opportunities for photography, birdwatching and simply appreciating the breathtaking scenery that surrounds the lake. After the excursion, begin your return journey through the rolling hills of southwestern Uganda before crossing back into Rwanda. Depending on your departure schedule, there may be time for a brief stop to purchase souvenirs before continuing to Kigali International Airport. Your safari concludes with wonderful memories of two remarkable countries, extraordinary wildlife encounters and some of East Africa's most spectacular landscapes.
