​Your adventure begins with a morning drive from Nairobi, heading northwest into the Great Rift Valley. The route descends down the spectacular escarpment, offering panoramic views of the vast valley floor before arriving at Lake Nakuru National Park by midday. After checking into your lodge and enjoying a fresh lunch, you will set out for an exhilarating afternoon game drive along the lake's edge and through the surrounding acacia woodlands.
​Lake Nakuru is a haven for highly endangered wildlife. You will immediately start tracking the park’s famous populations of black and white rhinos grazing along the grassy shores, alongside rare Rothschild's giraffes. The lake itself is a vibrant spectacle, fringed by thousands of pink flamingos and pelicans. As dusk approaches, you will scan the fever trees for leopards before returning to your lodge for dinner.

​A full day in Lake Nakuru allows you to explore the dramatic elevation changes and unique microclimates of this compact park. Setting out after an early breakfast, your morning drive cuts through the spectacular Euphorbia forest—the largest of its kind in Africa—where the tall, cactus-like trees provide a striking backdrop for spotting rare Rothschild’s giraffes feeding on high shoots.

​Your journey continues south today as you depart Lake Nakuru after an early breakfast, embarking on a dramatic drive that climbs the fertile, rolling hills of the Mau Escarpment. The scenic route winds past vast wheat fields and traditional Maasai homesteads before descending back onto the floor of the Great Rift Valley, arriving at the gates of the legendary Maasai Mara National Reserve by early afternoon.
​After checking in and enjoying lunch at your lodge, you will head out for an introductory afternoon game drive. The endless, golden savannah immediately opens up before you, welcoming you to Africa's ultimate wildlife arena. Within your first few hours, you will start tracking the Mara's famous big cats—watching powerful lion prides resting in the shade and scanning the open plains for cheetahs surveying the horizon for incoming herds of plains game. You return to camp by twilight for a warm dinner under the stars.
