Explore the lakeshore and wetlands, home to abundant waterbirds and migratory species. Likely sightings include African Fish Eagle, Great White Pelican, Pink-backed Pelican, Saddle-billed Stork, Marabou Stork, African Spoonbill, Sacred Ibis, Pied Kingfisher, Malachite Kingfisher, Black-winged Lovebird and Yellow-fronted Parrot. Continue to Lake Langano for afternoon birding in acacia woodland, searching for White-cheeked Turaco, Greyish Eagle-Owl, Verreaux's Eagle-Owl, African Wood Owl and colorful woodland birds. Possible sightings include Greater and Lesser Flamingos, African Jacana, Black Crake, Great White Pelican, Goliath Heron, Purple Heron, Hamerkop, African Pygmy Goose, White-backed Duck and numerous waders. Continue to Hawassa for lunch and relaxation before visiting Amora Gedel Forest and Lake Hawassa, where you may encounter African Fish Eagle, Silvery-cheeked Hornbill, White-cheeked Turaco, African Paradise Flycatcher, Woodland Kingfisher, Grey-headed Kingfisher and other forest birds.

Bird highlights may include Blue-winged Goose, Rouget's Rail, Spot-breasted Lapwing, Wattled Ibis, Ethiopian Siskin, Abyssinian Longclaw, Thick-billed Raven, Moorland Chat, Lammergeier, Verreaux's Eagle and Augur Buzzard.
