Enjoy an early breakfast at your lodge before checking out. You will begin your journey south & exit the northern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park and head toward the remote, untamed Ishasha Sector for your morning game drive. Unlike the wide-open plains of the north, Ishasha features a distinct landscape of woodland savannah dominated by giant, ancient fig trees. Keep your eyes glued to the low branches; this region is world-famous for its unique population of tree-climbing lions, who lounge aloft to escape the heat and tsetse flies. As you traverse the tracks, you will also encounter large herds of buffaloes, elephants, and the elegant topi antelope, a species not found in the northern part of the park.

After a lunch, you will begin your ascent into the Kigezi Highlands & arrive at the edge of the ancient Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in the evening. Relax and enjoy a hearty dinner.
