You can visit the National Museum, home of the famous fossil called Lucy, or simply rest and enjoy the mild highland weather. Dorze Village, Beehive Houses & Weaving

Fly from Addis Ababa to Arba Minch, then drive up into the hills to visit the Dorze people. The Dorze are famous for their tall, beehive-shaped houses made from bamboo and false banana leaves, some over 10 meters high. Watch a demonstration of how false banana, or enset, is turned into food, and see local weavers making colorful cotton cloth on traditional looms. Enjoy sweeping views over the Rift Valley lakes far below. Overnight near Arba Minch.

Konso Terraces & Generation Set Villages

Drive further south to Konso, a region known for its terraced hillsides that have been farmed the same way for hundreds of years, earning it UNESCO World Heritage status. Walk through a walled Konso village with a local guide, learning about the community's strong social structure, built around age groups called generation sets. See waka, carved wooden statues placed to honor important community members after they pass away. Overnight in Konso.

Local Market Day & Farewell Dinner in Addis

Spend the morning visiting a local market day if the timing allows, a colorful and lively event where people from surrounding villages come to trade food, crafts, and livestock. In the afternoon, drive back to Arba Minch and fly to Addis Ababa. Tonight, enjoy a farewell dinner hosted by Origin Abyssinia at a local restaurant in the capital, a relaxed way to end your trip with good food, coffee, and conversation with your guide.
