Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, your Serengeti Steppe guide will be there to warmly welcome you and assist with your transfer to Arusha. As you leave the airport behind, you settle into the rhythm of Tanzania and enjoy the changing scenery along the way.

Once in Arusha, you check in and take some time to relax after your journey. The evening is yours to unwind, enjoy a delicious meal, and settle comfortably into your accommodation.

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Your safari begins with a drive from Arusha to Tarangire National Park, a striking landscape of ancient baobab trees, open grasslands, and large elephant herds. As you enter the park, the scenery quickly changes to a mix of woodland and savannah, with the Tarangire River providing a vital source of water for wildlife.

You'll enjoy a full-day game drive along the river and through the surrounding plains. Watch for elephants gathering near the water, alongside giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, and a variety of antelope. With some luck, you may also encounter lions resting in the shade or moving through the grasslands.

As the afternoon draws to a close, you leave Tarangire behind and continue towards the cooler highlands of Karatu. You'll arrive at your lodge to relax after your first day in the bush, enjoy a delicious dinner, and settle in for a peaceful evening before the next stage of your safari.

Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive

Today, you will descend approximately 600 metres into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, a vast volcanic caldera surrounded by towering walls and renowned for its remarkable concentration of wildlife. The crater floor offers excellent opportunities to encounter zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, elephants, lions, and spotted hyenas. With patience and luck, you may also spot the endangered black rhino moving across the open grasslands.

You will enjoy a scenic picnic lunch on the crater floor, surrounded by the extraordinary landscape and the sounds of wildlife. After lunch, you continue exploring the caldera before beginning the ascent towards the highlands.

You return to your lodge in the afternoon to relax after an unforgettable day of game viewing. You'll enjoy a delicious dinner and a peaceful evening as you take in the memories of your time in Ngorongoro.

Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha

Your safari concludes with a visit to Lake Manyara National Park, a scenic destination beneath the Great Rift Valley escarpment. The park is known for its lush groundwater forest, diverse wildlife, and the alkaline lake that attracts large numbers of flamingos and other waterbirds. Keep an eye among the trees for the park’s famous tree-climbing lions, while elephants, giraffes, baboons, and other wildlife may appear along the way.

You'll enjoy a final game drive through the park before stopping for a scenic picnic lunch surrounded by the peaceful wilderness. After lunch, you begin the journey back to Arusha or continue to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight.
