Depart Nairobi after breakfast and journey north through Kenya's scenic highlands, passing coffee and tea plantations before crossing the Equator at Nanyuki. Continue to the rugged landscapes of Samburu National Reserve, a unique wilderness known for its rare wildlife, including the Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, and gerenuk—collectively known as the "Samburu Special Five." Spend the day exploring the spectacular Samburu National Reserve with morning and afternoon game drives. After an early breakfast, depart Samburu and travel south through the scenic central highlands towards the Aberdare region. Enjoy the changing landscapes, from the semi-arid plains of northern Kenya to the lush forests and rolling hills of the Aberdare ranges. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch and spend the afternoon relaxing or watching wildlife from the lodge's viewing decks and waterholes. Keep an eye out for elephants, buffaloes, bushbucks, giant forest hogs, and, if you're lucky, the elusive leopard. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge in the Aberdare region.
